Escape from Colditz: 75th Anniversary Edition is a beautifully produced game with outstanding theme elements and a rich World War II history. The game components and packaging are top notch, but unfortunately, the gameplay itself falls short. With a roll and move mechanic, the game lacks the strategic depth and control that many modern board games offer. Additionally, the game can take a long time to play, especially with higher player counts. The portrayal of the guards as generic Germans rather than explicitly as Nazis has been criticized for whitewashing the history. However, overall, if you enjoy luck-based games and have an interest in World War II history, this game is worth considering.
