The Optimal Control Systems Electrical Engineering Series 1st Edition is an excellent text for graduate students. It provides a detailed explanation of optimal control systems with lots of examples. The content is easy to track with nice summaries after each subsection. The book is crystal-clear and uses a step-by-step approach to help readers understand the topics. It is one of the best books in this area and is very appropriate for self-study. However, it does not cover LQG, which is a minor drawback compared to the overall quality of the book.
