Customer Questions & Answers

  • Question: How does The Wrist Snapper help pitchers?

Answer: It strengthens the wrist and forearm and provides audible feedback for a proper wrist snap, essential for dramatic ball movement.
  • Question: Can beginners use The Wrist Snapper?

Answer: Yes, it is suitable for all skill levels and is easy to use.
  • Question: When can The Wrist Snapper be used?

Answer: It can be used at any time during training.
  • Question: Can anyone give me proper instructions on how to use this? Proper way to hold?

Answer: The horizontal bar at the top should rest in the palm of the user's hand with the down (vertical) rod between the middle and ring finger with fingers curled around the horizontal rod. The Wrist Snapper can be started at any point but you must first point the down rod upward to lock the plunger in place. With a slow motion, the arm should begin the windmill motion in front of the body and then begin to accelerate on the back of the body until the wrist is snapped at the release point near the leg or coming across the body for breaking pitches. Ernie performs a demonstration on YouTube and if you Google 'Wrist Snapper' it should be one of your options. Thanks.
  • Question: I understand this product is used to improve throwing/pitching, but can it be used to improve the wrist snap when batting?

Answer: Absolutely not. Use for throwing only. This doesn't help batting and anyone who says it does really doesn't know. Snapping wrists when batting and when hitting are two entirely different movements.
  • Question: What type of material is this made of? Is it just plastic? And how easily does the plunger slide?

Answer: There are numerous components used to assemble the Wrist Snapper. The 'T' portion of the tool is comprised primarily of a hard plastic/pvc like material which is lightweight yet durable. The inner components include a steel plunger with a strong magnet designed for resistance until the proper wrist snap is executed. The plunger releases against an iron end cap designed to produce audible feedback. The plunger is designed to release upon a fairly strong wrist snap by any level of pitcher. The feedback is louder with a strong pitcher and not as loud with a younger pitcher but proper technique results in this tool working for all users.
  • Question: Could this benefit a tennis player?

Answer: I don't think it would apply to a tennis player. It's designed to help a softball pitcher practice 'snapping' at a precise moment. I think tennis swings would be much higher ... but if you find it on the cheaper side and want to try, you have nothing to lose except a few dollars. Good luck!!!!
  • Question: Will you tell me how to use this with a youth baseball pitcher to teach better wrist snap?

Answer: Thank you for your interest in the Wrist Snapper. We have had hundreds of positive comments from coaches and parents who have seen their student's performance increase immediately after making the Wrist Snapper a part of their practice routine. Please watch Ernie's and other demonstrations on YouTube to learn the basic technique to make the device work. For baseball, the player's position will dictate the position at which you want the wrist to snap. A fielder may want to snap at the 3/4 arm position while an overhand pitcher may want to snap and release at a chest high position. A good trainer can assess the best power and control release point for a particular student. When that point is identified, initially use a repetitive slow move to the release point with a decisive and quick wrist snap in order to teach the feel and to hear the audible feedback and soon you should be able to replicate that same technique with ball in hand. All our best to you. I hope to see your youth in the Bigs one day.

Wrist Snapper Baseball Editorial Review

The Wrist Snapper Ernie Parkers is a great tool for improving wrist snaps in softball pitching. It is lightweight yet durable, and the plunger provides audible feedback when the proper technique is executed. However, it is not recommended for tennis players or improving wrist snap in batting. Overall, it has been highly recommended by coaches and parents for its effectiveness in improving performance.
