- Bütün karaca yavruları gibi Bambi de doğar doğmaz ayağa kalktı. Gördüğü ilk canlı annesiydi ve harika biriydi. Annesinin sevgisi ve rehberliğiyle kısa sürede orman hakkında her şeyi öğrenmişti. Ormanda çok farklı hayvanlar ve bitkiler vardı. Saksağan biraz geveze, sincap ise arkadaş canlısıydı. Bambi kelebeklerin kesinlikle çok çılgın olduğuna karar vermişti. Diğer karacalarla tanışmak da minik karaca yavrusunu çok şaşırtmıştı. İkiz kuzenleri ona çok benziyorlardı ama huyları bambaşkaydı. Aslında ormandaki bütün karacalar akrabaydı. Kısa süre içinde Bambi ormandaki yaşamın mükemmel olduğunu anlamıştı, ancak bilmediği şeyler vardı. Sıcak günler geçip de kış geldiğinde, orman çok tehlikeli bir yere dönüşüyordu.
