Marine Navigation Protractor

The Weems Navigation Protractor has garnered mixed reviews from customers, particularly those who utilize it for navigation classes and marine activities. On one hand, many users appreciate its accuracy and ease of use, especially in a classroom environment. Several customers highlighted its reliable performance in plotting courses and measuring bearings, often comparing it favorably to other navigation tools available on the market. The protractor’s large size allows for a clear view of charts, which some users found beneficial for navigating complex routes. However, the product has also been critiqued for substantial quality control issues and design flaws. Numerous buyers reported receiving units that arrived damaged, with complaints about the brittleness of the material used in the newer models. Many voiced disappointment over the apparent decline in quality compared to older versions, noting that the plastic feels thinner and less durable. The addition of a black knob has been seen as an unnecessary complication that could lead to further issues, like cracking under pressure. Additionally, the protractor's size has been deemed unwieldy for typical marine use, suggesting that it might not fit well into the limited storage available on most boats. In summary, while the Weems Navigation Protractor is praised for its functionality and clarity, its durability and portability have raised concerns among users, with significant warranty and design flaws impacting its overall reception. **
