The world building is fairly strong, and the story is memorable. The characters are unique and their individual stories are well-told. The story meanders lightheartedly in the first half and builds a somewhat creaky epic clash in the second. The attempts at pathos and epic tone especially work against one another, and the conclusion is a dud. It’s an epic story for all ages with humor, action, and suspense but not recommended to every comics fan.
