Chris Rea Format: Audio CD Britain 5101129782 Editorial Review
Chris Rea's "Platinum Collection" has been well-received by music enthusiasts, particularly fans of his romantic and soulful style. The compilation is noted for featuring a majority of Rea's greatest hits from the 1980s and 1990s, including iconic songs like "Road to Hell," "I Can Hear Your Heartbeat," and "Let's Dance." This collection serves as an excellent entry point for those who wish to delve into Rea's music without investing heavily, making it a valuable addition for newcomers as well as long-time fans. Listeners have specifically praised Rea's unique voice and musicianship, highlighting the remastered quality of the tracks, which deliver an enjoyable listening experience. Fans love that the compilation includes not only the popular hits but also some lesser-known favorites, suggesting that it captures the essence of Rea's musical journey well. However, there are some downsides. A few customers expressed disappointment with inaccuracies found in the track listings provided on the website compared to what’s actually included in the CD. This discrepancy has left some fans feeling frustrated, detracting from the overall enjoyment of the album. In summary, Chris Rea's "Platinum Collection" serves as a delightful compilation for both fans and those discovering his music for the first time. The collection successfully marries nostalgia with quality, despite some issues with track listing accuracy. **
