The Abus 1010 Chain Lock is a highly rated product for securing bicycles. The locking mechanism works well and is easy to use, and it is sturdy without being too heavy. However, the cover may rip easily. The lock has kept bikes safe for months and has served as a good balance between weight and safety. The Abus locks are known for their security and the 1010 chain lock appears to be no exception. The key precision may require some attention to function smoothly. The Abus 1010 Chain Lock is not long enough for medium-sized bikes or to pass through both tires on a standard bicycle. The product is made in Germany, and it may deserve a Gold rating although package stated security rating 12/15. However, there were some issues with the keys for some users, and it may take attention to insert and turn it correctly. It is hard to disengage the lock collar with one hand so it is best used with both hands. It's weight is noticeable on the bicycle and listed at a little over four pounds. The useful inner perimeter is much less than 33 inches. It is bigger than a 12-inch U lock and it is strong enough to resist some bolt cutters but the U locks of similar price are lighter and more secure.Comes with bulky plastic connectors.
