The 5-Inch 8 Holes Hook and Loop Soft Sponge Cushion Interface Buffer Pad is a foam interposer that sits between the sander and the sanding disk. It works well with any 5-inch 8-hole power sander and can be used for curved and irregular surfaces. The product is useful for sanding baseboards, window trims, and vehicle paint prep or paint correction. However, there is a risk of sanding through to the base coat, primer, or base metal when using it for paint correction. The majority of reviews are positive, with customers finding it to be a cheap alternative to similar cushioned sanders. The product works well for gentle curves and roundovers, and it separates the heat of the sanding from the hook-and-loop pad on the sander, which allows the sander to last longer.
