Standard Motor Products FD480T Ignition Coil, Oem Replacement, Coils Modules & Other Ignition

The Standard Motor Products FD480T Ignition Coil has garnered a mixed reception from customers, primarily based on the specific compatibility with various vehicle models. Many users who installed this ignition coil report positive experiences, highlighting its straightforward installation and successful performance in resolving issues such as misfires and rough idles. For instance, one user mentioned a seamless fit on a 2006 Ford Explorer, resulting in a significant improvement in engine performance after replacing the coil along with spark plugs and wires. Similarly, others noted that the coil successfully eliminated starting issues in vehicles like the 2001 Sport Trac, which contributed to a smoother operation. However, the product has also faced criticism, particularly concerning compatibility. A user with a 1999 Mazda B3000 experienced multiple misfires and poor engine performance after the installation of this coil, leading them to revert to the original Motorcraft component. This suggests a potential variability in performance based on individual vehicle applications, indicating that while the coil may work exceptionally well for some, it might not be suitable for others depending on the unique configuration of their engines. Overall, the Standard Motor Products FD480T Ignition Coil is well-received for its ease of installation, affordability, and effectiveness in vehicles where it is compatible. However, potential buyers should Consider the specific requirements of their vehicle and may find mixed results based on others' experiences. **
